Serco manage HMP Dovegate, HMP & YOI Doncaster, HMP Lowdham Grange, HMP Ashfield and HMP Thameside, under the Ministry of Justice's National Offender Management Service and HMP Kilmarnock for the Scottish Prison Service.
HMP Lowdham Grange
HMP Lowdham Grange is a Category B prison holding male prisoners aged 21 years and over with an operations capacity of 920 prisoners at one time. The current prison population catchment area is nationwide with prisoners serving no less than 4 years remaining on the sentence. The average stay at Lowdham Grange is approximately eighteen month to two years and upon conclusion of their time many prisoners then move to a Category C Establishment.

Opened in 2001, Serco manage HMP Dovegate on a 25 year contract as a Category B prison. Caring for over 1060 male adult prisoners aged 21 years and over serving a range of sentences including trial, remand, awaiting sentence and convicted men serving over four years to life in prison.
The prison also includes a separate 200-bed Therapeutic Community for repeat serious offenders. The unit, the only privately-run one in the UK and the only purpose-built therapeutic facility, offers its residents daily group therapy, which lasts between 18 – 24 months.

HMP and YOI Doncaster
HMP & YOI Doncaster is a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire operated by Serco. Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20
As a resettlement prison we work with our prisoners, particularly those serving less than 12 months, to ensure that they have the support they need for resettlement as well as access to the services and support available to them after release. The majority of our prisoners are released back into South Yorkshire area, particularly Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley.

HMP Thameside is a Local category B establishment that can currently hold 1,232 convicted and remand male prisoners.
The primary purpose of HMP Thameside is to deliver a service through its contractual arrangement to meet the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) objectives by: Protecting the public in holding those committed by the courts in a safe, decent and healthy environment. Reducing re-offending by providing constructive regimes that address offending behaviour, improve prisoner education and work skills, provide resettlement needs and promote law abiding behaviour in custody and after release.

HMP Kilmarnock is a closed, high security establishment accommodating remand, short term and long term male adult prisoners and male young offender remand prisoners. One of two private prisons in Scotland, it has been operated by Serco since 1999 under a 25 year contract on behalf of the Scottish Prison Service (SPS). It has 500 single cells and a maximum capacity of 692 prisoners.
The prison has a mixed regime based on education, behavioural and addiction programmes, both approved and accredited. Prisoners are required to attend industrial work and physical exercise programmes. The prison concentrates on working towards reducing offending behaviour and ensuring prisoners are better prepared to lead a law-abiding life once released.
HMP Ashfield is located in Bristol, and currently has the capacity to hold 400 prisoners. Ashfield was once a young offender’s prison. However in 2013 the prison became a category C establishment for adult males instead. HMP Ashfield currently holds those who are serving sentences for sexual offences.
The prison was built in 1999 and is made of two residential blocks, each made of four wings. Each wing has between 40 and 60 single and double bed cells, all with integrated sanitation. They also have a dining area, an association area, a servery, showers and cleaning facilities. The prison also has seven cells that are dedicated to disabled inmates
The prison has been privately owned by Serco since 2005 who provide educational and psychological services for prisoners along with the daily running of the establishment.
